Taking good decisions fast is paramount to keeping up a profitable business. Dispatchers with multiple drivers on the road know that keeping an eye on the bigger picture while juggling their schedules can be a challenge.

Thankfully, Ship.Cars offers the Trip Mode feature on its Loadboard, allowing dispatchers to seamlessly manage multiple trips and add prospective loads with a single click at a time.

Using Trip Mode to Manage Multiple Trips for Multiple Drivers

💬 Scenario: Let's say you have a couple of drivers, and you are planning their next trips. You get on the Ship.Cars Loadboard and you initiate a search. Once you find a few good loads you would want to add them in a Trip, so you could see the order of execution, the total distance, and the revenue you'd keep. Now,

Instead of choosing which trip to add a load to for every single one of them,

  1. Make sure the Trip Mode toggle is ON.

  2. Select the [first] trip you want to add loads to.

  3. Now just click the "Add to Trip" button next to each load you'd like, no matter how many different searches you trigger.

  4. Once you have added the desired loads, open the Trip Plan and arrange the order of stops, starting with the first stop at the top.

Transferring Loads Between Trips

You can transfer loads from one trip to another using two methods:

  1. From the Loadboard: Switch the selected trip in Trip Mode, find the desired posting, and hover over the "Trip" button. You'll now see the option "Transfer to this trip". Click on it to transfer the load to the new trip.

  2. From the Dashboard: Locate the order you want to transfer, and click on the button with the current trip's name. Choose "Change Trip" and select the new trip you want the load to be assigned to.

ℹ️ Note: The load's driver will change if the new trip has a different driver assigned.

We at Ship.Cars aim to make it convenient for dispatchers to keep their drivers on the road and their schedules running smoothly. Drop us a line in the chat should you have any trouble getting the most out of this functionality or with any other aspect of your work with the platform.

We are happy to help!
